Four Tet - There Is Love In You - Vinyl LP Record

Second time around for Kieran Hebden's 2010 album There Is Love In You, a much-loved set that helped accelerate the long-serving producer's evolution from post-rock and experimental electronica eccentric to festival headlining dancefloor hero. The set, which has not been available on vinyl in 15 years, is in some ways reflective of the musical mood of the time, doffing a cap to the more experimental and melodious end of post-dubstep UK bass culture and the growing influence (on him at least) of deep house and techno. Yet at the same time it still explores some of his earlier themes - think organic melodic motifs more often associated with American minimalists (Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Terry Riley etc), folksy snatches of ear-pleasing instrumentation, the electronics of IDM and a layered, sample-rich eccentricity not dissimilar to the hallmarks of, say, Matthew Herbert productions.
