In 2023, Oracle Sisters experienced a whirlwind year of touring across the U.S., U.K., Europe, and Japan, navigating a chaotic mix of exhaustion, exhilaration, conflict, and connection that left them both scattered and inspired. Just before Christmas, they landed in Tokyo, reflecting on surreal memories from the road, and soon after, retreated to a frozen farmhouse in rural France to begin writing their album Divinations. Isolated together for the first time as a trio, they transformed fragments of their travels into music, drawing sonic inspiration from artists like Talking Heads, Air, and Leonard Cohen, and experimenting with toy drum machines, swapping instruments, and writing on an OP-1. Lyrically, the album captures the fragmented nature of modern life, using collage-like imagery to explore the human condition. Produced independently under their newly founded label Wizard Artists, with handmade artwork from tour scraps, Divinations is a deeply personal, DIY project that marks a new chapter for Oracle Sisters.
