The Story
Influenced by the Bristol scene and with a European feel, Trovaire hails from a rural 500 acre farm here in Tenterfield. Comprising multi-instrumentalists Dennis Gascoigne and David Ryan, this modern take on the sampling tradition reveals a delight in repurposing found sounds and reimagining how retro vibes fit into contemporary culture.
After many a late night at the bar discussing favourite tracks and having the music up way to loud, Dennis and David were re-inspired to start writing again and from there "The Stonefruit Sessions" came to life.
Incorporating finishing touches from Tony Espie (The Avalanches), Trovaire’s LP The Stonefruit Sessions is a tribute to the bonds of friendship and a shared passion for great music. Our days at the bar would start with morning coffees with Tourist and Moon Safari, old school electro afternoons sliding into moody TripHop soirees and messy jungle jazz evenings. And foremost, to the community of a shared aesthetic, and a love of art in places you don't expect it.
