Bringing longstanding friends together and featuring members of Youth Group, The Vines, Songs and Smudge, Treats is a true under the radar classic from the Voltron-esque Sydney four piece, as excellent as it is endearing, brimming with from-the-heart songwriting while offering a unique take on classic guitar pop, where every track reveals more detail on repeated listeners.
"We felt that there was a bit of death of indie rock bands making catchy songs with an overabundance of words at the moment. So, we thought we'd give it a go."
Produced by Wayne Connolly, it’s a tightly recorded and expertly arranged record with an anthemic bent that feels effortless, and sitting at a junction between Flying Nun Records, Go-Betweens and the Kinks. A real grower of an album and highly recommended. This was one of our favourite releases of 2023.
